Tanks ablaze as preventing erupts over disputed area


Heavy preventing has erupted between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh area, with each civilians and combatants killed.

Accusing Azerbaijan of air and artillery assaults, Armenia reported downing helicopters and destroying tanks, and declared martial legislation.

Azerbaijan mentioned it had begun a counter-offensive in response to shelling.

The area is internationally recognised as a part of Azerbaijan however managed by ethnic Armenians.

They broke away within the dying years of the Soviet Union. Each Armenia and Azerbaijan have been a part of the communist state, which sought to suppress ethnic and non secular variations.
