President Donald Trump is projected to win Ohio over former Vice President Joe Biden, according to NBC News.

Ohio has 18 Electoral School votes. Polling averages had indicated a decent race in a state Trump received handily in 2016 over then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Lengthy thought of a bellwether for nationwide politics, Ohio has voted for the successful presidential candidate in each election since 1964. No Republican has ever received the presidency with out successful the Buckeye State.

However with Trump’s commanding victory in 2016 and a close to Republican sweep in 2018 statewide races, Ohio’s battleground state standing had been in query.

Polling trackers had given little indication of which candidate held a transparent benefit in Ohio heading into Election Day.

RealClearPolitics confirmed Biden with a slim lead over Trump that tightened to a neck-and-neck race within the last days of the cycle.

GOP pollster Frank Luntz deemed Ohio a must-win state for Trump, along with North Carolina and Florida.
