An adult daycare worker accused of knocking a disabled adult to the ground and strangling him has been charged with exploiting a disabled adult and making terrorist threats and acts.

Toni Washington, 23, is currently in prison awaiting his first appearance in court. Her arrest on Tuesday resulted from an investigation by the Crimes Against the Vulnerable and Elderly Task Force at Lizzy’s adult daycare center on Augusta Tech Drive, where Washington worked and was responsible for the welfare and care of the victim, a disabled adult .

During the investigation, CAVE investigator Kris Lapham checked the surveillance video and saw Washington remove the man from his wheelchair and throw him to the ground, authorities said. Lapham also watched Washington grab the man by the back of his shirt collar as he crawled behind her, violently turning him 180 degrees, according to the CAVE press release.

Witnesses said Washington choked the man to the point where “his face turned red and almost blue,” according to the press release. The witnesses said she cursed the man and threatened to kill him while she was choking him.
