Manuskriptriktlinjer

The editorial committee accepts articles for consideration through a refereed process. Referees are chosen by the main editors and editorial board.
 
All articles and reviews should be submitted electronically in Word or RTF format with suffixes .doc. or .rtf.  These should be double spaced with margins of at least 1". Notes, bibliographies, appendixes and displayed quotations must also be double spaced. Contributors can write in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, or English. Articles should not normally exceed between 30-40 000 characters including spaces.
 
A cover page should be submitted with the article, including the author's name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, and where possible, fax number, and followed by
a presentation of the author: Academic title, department affiliation, field of research (not more than 100 words).
 
On the second page an English title and abstract should be provided, the abstract not exceeding 200-250 words. On this same page, five to ten key words should be provided in English. Papers will not be accepted without an abstract.
 
Illustrations, tables and diagrams should be provided in an electronic form suitable for direct reproduction, supplied as separate documents, and be consecutively numbered throughout the article with their approximate positions noted in the typescript. Photographs should be well contrasted black and whites.

The body of the article

The article should start with a short introduction to the article/research done.

Headings

Should be placed on the left side of the page with no punctuation (as shown below). Sub-headings should be in italics (also see example below).

Section headings
Use double line spacing when shifting from section headings to text. Do not number the sections.

Accentuations within the text

Previously published books and articles quoted by the author should be presented in italics, do not use the ‘bold’ feature or use different fonts in the text. Paragraphs should be marked by a line break and a tabulator indentation.
Abbreviations or acronyms should be defined.

Quotes

Long quotes of two or more lines should be indented on both the left and right hand sides maintaining the same writing features as the rest of the article.
Quotation marks (inverted commas) are not to be used in connection with indented quotes.
Double spaced lines should be used before and after indented quotes.
Short quotes should be written within the text and quotation marks used in this instance.

Notes

Please do only use endnotes, instead of footnotes, ibliographical references should be included into these. Notes should be kept to a minimum and presented within the text numerically. Do not use notes in connection with the title of the article.

References

References should be listed at the end of the article, and before the endnotes.
All works cited in the text must be listed at the end of the article, and no references to works not cited in the article should appear in this list. The authors' first names should be mentioned in the reference list.

References within the text should be presented as, (Moi 1985) and should not be cited as notes. Specific page or section references should follow the year of publication and presented as, (Moi 1985, 47). NB. References are expected to appear at the end of sentences, never in the middle.

Copyright

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any material in which they do not hold copyright, and for ensuring that the appropriate acknowledgements are included in their typescript.

Published articles will be electronically stored in the publisher’s database and may be published electronically at the publisher’s website and made accessible through the publisher’s system of electronic distribution of literature (Idunn.no).
 
Articles should be submitted to the editorial secretary and the editor.
